James Jackson

James E.T. Jackson, MPH
Chief Administrative Officer

With more than two decades of experience as a hospital executive, James Jackson applies his expertise to support San Leandro Hospital’s core mission of serving as a patient-centered community hospital. He defines, develops and implements strategic initiatives aligned with the mission and strategic vision of both San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Health System (AHS).

In addition to his role at San Leandro Hospital, Mr. Jackson is also the administrator of Fairmont Hospital, AHS’s specialized Acute Rehabilitation Center and Skilled Nursing Facility, also located in San Leandro.

Mr. Jackson joined AHS in May 2012, after having served as Support Services Assistant Administrator with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in the Diablo Service Area, which includes Walnut Creek, Antioch and Martinez. He was responsible for all support services at the facility including Engineering, Security, Clinical Technology, Nutrition, Environmental Services, Environmental Health and Safety and Materials Management. While at Kaiser he was also actively involved in the management of the Labor Management Partnership in his service area.

Mr. Jackson holds a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a Bay Area native and lives in Oakland.

Miles Adler

Steven Rosenthal, MD
Associate Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Steven Rosenthal has been an active member of the East Bay medical community since 1979. After completing his residency at Highland Hospital, Dr. Rosenthal entered private practice and is certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative care.

As Associate Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for guiding the medical staff to achieve best clinical outcomes, operational efficiency and deliver value-based care. Prior to his current role, Dr. Rosenthal held several management positions at San Leandro Hospital including Department of Medicine Chief and Chief of Staff.  He attended the University of California, Berkeley and University of California, Davis. 

Vicki Ardito

Viki Ardito
Associate Vice President, Patient Care Services

As Associate Vice President of Patient Care Services, Viki Ardito directs and coordinates the nursing patient care functions throughout the hospital.   She also defines and develops the philosophy, objectives and organization structure for achieving quality nursing patient care.  Ms. Ardito assists the hospital‘s Administrator in the review of operations and programs, strategic planning and achievement of financial and quality goals. 

She comes to San Leandro Hospital with a track record of proven leadership in managing administrative direction and innovation to nursing service programs.  Before joining AHS, she served as the Chief Nursing Officer at a 1,100 bed tertiary medical center in the Bay Area for more than a decade.
